This is Trev's mostly likely opportunity to finally pwn a noob.
Justin the Not-So-Cheery Black/Hack/CrackTiger helped Joshua Jackass, Andrew/Arkhan Dildovich and the DildoPhiles destroy 2 PC Engine groups: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook, then the other by Aaron Nanto!!! Him and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together! Both times he blamed the Aarons and their staff in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner, never himself nor his deranged/destructive/doxxing toxic turbo troll gang which he covers up for under the "community" euphemism!

SignOfZeta

I thought the noob emancipation proclamation of 2014 put an end to all that?

Just showing the absurdly of how expensive Saturn games have become in the past 4 years.

PCEngineHell

They were already absurdly expensive 4 years ago. You are 4 years late.

I bought a bunch of Saturn games not too long ago and they were unbelievably cheap, just as I've found them to be since the late 90's. I even got a pair of black Sega lightguns, one of which is the rare variant, for less than what the ugly orange ones "gor for".

Of course I'm just buying games to play with nicer packaging and not  putting together a North American set. There's maybe only 1 or 2 North American releases that I might need in English thad I'd care about playing. Most of the good games weren't even released in North America.

It's pretty much the same as Turbo vs PCE. There's no reason to waste money on Turbo versions. I'd rather have a nice looking and functional game for $5 - $20 than an oversized flimsy case with fugly art for $200.

Shining the Holy Ark is a good example. The worst part of the game is the terrible story. It's super straight forward and the menus are symbols with easy to recognize katakana and short kanji. I bought it new for in English for $70, but could only bring myself to play through it twice. So I'll stick to the $5 version instead of paying $100 for a bookend.

I agree with both of you. That game sucked for $40 when it was new (probably $50-60 actually) it sucked for $40 four years ago, and it sucks for $40 now. If idiots have screwed themselves by driving the price higher in recent years...good.

Also, US Saturn stuff is even shittier than US Turbo stuff much of the time. Shitty stupid giant SUV sized cases that break if you look a them, hilariously inept multi-disc packaging, often some of the worst art imaginable from games that already had AMAZING art just laying around, such as Street Fighter Alpha and Guardian Heroes...unless I actually need the localization or its US-only, I don't want any US Saturn stuff in my collection. They are mostly terrible substandard releases that, IMO, insult Sega. I've been slowing replacing most of my US stuff that I bought new with cheap imports. I'd rather have Bomberman SS than Saturn Bomberman with the sound effects replaced and a case that breaks every 3 years. Still need a JP Mr. Bones, if anyone what's to swap for a US one...

Yeah I got my copy about 4 years ago for $15. It's not a great game and those US Saturn cases ugh. I might be able to help you with your quest on JP Mr. Bones, I'll have to do some digging tonight. :)

I actually really liked this game when it came out.  I was turned off by the art style at first but after sitting down with it I really enjoyed the game.  I was a huge SItD fan.  I must be way more forgiving then others.

Haha I remember after he made this sale thread every damn day in chat he was trying sell this game.

This can't be worth 400$, I refuse to believe it. I loved this game in middle school, and not too long ago started a new playthrough and can see why. The shallow gameplay is easy to approach, the story is interesting enough to be curious and push forward, and the graphics are appealing in that pushing towards the future hit and miss kind of way.

The original asking price was not too high, but the collectardation may not be warranted, in my openion.

Not sure where $400 is coming from. The game usually goes for around $80 - $90 complete today and this is assuming we are talking about the US version. For November 2011 I would say the price was high but not absurd (on a forum I would have been trying to sell it for $30 shipped in the US)

Well maybe not $400, but ebay gougers are trying to get $200 for it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Shining-the-Holy-Ark-Sega-Saturn-1997-/262279069307?hash=item3d110cfe7b:g:WoEAAOSwX~dWtjwt

I made a reasonable offer on the disc-only copy of Camp California that's on eBay for $1900. It was also declined.

I wonder if I put in $99,999,98 if it would still auto decline?  BTW I love the $87 for shipping lol.

schnuth

$100 and a reach around? I'd consider it sold. :P
