Ill stab him, take the games, and Raffle them off here. 1 magical chase, 1 MC manual, and 3 hermo of Tonmas.

Sigh, then you've got the $2.2k Hero Tonma.  Dude has the nerve to charge $11 for shipping.

I guess the lack of cardboard is why it's $1800 cheaper...?

I was at a retro game convention thing-y a few weeks ago and I saw a guy trying to sell only the manual to Magical Chase for $1100.  It had a stamp from some rental store on it clearly visible on the front.

Well, that $7000 Magical Chase auction comes with an authentic World Class Baseball case. That should contribute at least $1000 towards the price.

Not eBay but was at a local retro game store.

Seems they feel a lose hu card of Bonk is worth $64 plus tax.

Quote from: spawnshop on 10/15/2016, 10:49 AMOf course, i think these prices are ridiculous......but i think it's really funny how this "extremely rare" game shows up in two auctions at the same time.  And I've seen it more in the past couple months too.

If those eBay prices are ridiculous then what is a fair price for this holy grail game?

I think that copies of Magical Chase with manual and random case which appear to have sold on eBay in the past year or two have been between $1500 - $3000.

This is a huge thread of people complaining about TG16 prices.
I start a thread asking what are the correct prices we should pay and then I get attacked.
It seems you can't win on this forum.

That price is just for the plastic slip in holder that the chip fits into. The chip is not included.

Is it any fun?  Something tells me it's best to stick with the TG-16.

Like most games it's worth trying. I think that it only has 3 or 4 stages. Definitely much more faithful than you'd expect. But it's harder to take it for what it is after having a TurboExpress and Ninja Spirit bitd.

For now. Get an Everdrive test out some of the hu card games and pick up physical copies of anything yon like. You can also burn Cd rom games for the super cd games.

Most of the best games are PC Engine CDs that your Duo can play and most are reasonably priced.

Thanks for the suggestion. I actually picked up a TE right before the Duo arrived. I would love to be able to burn CD games but don't have all the necessary stuff for that. So that's how I wound up here...was trying to find affordable options. Of course I had to start off with at least a couple that I paid too much for but thought they should be my first in my collection.  Great forum here for TG16!

So you don't have a computer at all? Probably worth buying a cheap tower if you want to play cdrs. Should be able to spend $20 or less on CL, hell get one old enough and it will likely be free.

Oh I have a computer but am not familiar with how to properly burn the games. It also looks like some don't recommend that as it could potentially damage the system? Just seems difficult for an aging retro gamer like myself but by all means if there are any tutorials I didn't find, shoot me a link.

NecroPhile

The risk of damaging your system isn't that great; the only way you'll kill the laser is if you ignore that it's struggling to read the disc and let it seek and reseek over and over again 'til it dies.

Once you get a system that can reliably read discs (some never will) and feed it good rips burned to media it likes, there's nothing to worry about.

This. The key is making sure you have a good system. Very high variance with these things.

A lot of these titles are dyno-mite. Exile, the Cho Anikis and Dungeon Explorer II are particular favourites of mine from among this list.

Many of the JRPGs go for a pittance as mentioned, because moon runes but some are translated or one can use a guide. Well worth it for people that like RPGs.
