I've been unable to get any japanese game to work. I use the rom converter to remove the header, then flash my game checking the "swap bit" option. However I only get a white screen. The japanese games I've tried (with no luck) so far are Detana Twinbee, Coryoon and the japanese version of Splatterhouse.

This has been a source of confusion, but I believe the User Manual is now correct.  If your SYSTEM is Japanese, then you need to check the 'flip bits' box (for all games).  If your SYSTEM is USA, then you should not check the box (for any games).
 
I will be interested to see if the Supergrafx games work.  I don't know of anyone that's tried it yet.

I've had no issues playing pc engine games on my turbografx-16. This flash card works great; thanks. By the way, when pulling it out of my tg-16, do you recommend grabbing a hold of the cart a certain way to minimize the risk of damage to the cart?

So, after much deliberation, I decided to purchase the Samsung BD-P2550:

The particular model I picked up, P2550, not only streams Netflix, but it also streams Pandora radio. The regular P2500 only streams Netflix and is the same price. I wound up picking this player up at an "open box" price, which saved me a nice chunk of change. Like Nat's Sony Blue Ray Player, I can plug my player into an ethernet slot to get firmware updates sent directly to the player. After really thinking about it, I don't think I would have gotten much use out of a PS3. I mostly stick to my old school systems and watch a ton of movies, so I think this purchase makes more sense.

Now, I'm just waiting for my home theater system to come in the mail.

If you want Blu-Ray and upscaled DVD go with PS3.  The fact that you connect online with it gurantees firmware updates not only system but Blu-Ray Media-Side as well.

Keep in mind though that while you will get 1080p out of all Blu-Rays, most PS3 games only output to 720p.  A real dissappointed considering Xbox 360 upscales everything to 1080p regardless if its native or not.

MG makes a good point. The way I've rationalized this potential purchase is the following. I'll have to put down about $250.00 for a good blue ray player. Why not spend a little more for a blue ray player that I can connect to online for firmware updates and happens to play video games? I'm thinking of going with either a used or refurbished PS3 now. I'll be combing Craigslist for bargains.

Overall, everyone seems very satisfied with their investment in their PS3. Now, since I primarily want to use it as a blueray player, I'm thinking of getting a refurbished 40 gb, as that seems to be the most cost-effective route.

I'm thinking of upgrading my home theater system to really take advantage of high definition. I'm debating whether I should purchase a PS 3 or I should just get a blueray player. I know the PS 3 really doesn't have that many games for it yet, and I also like the fact that I can get a Roku Netflix box to stream movies in HD. How do those of you with a PS 3 feel about it as an investment?

Nope. I also suggest to stop using RF hookups though. Thats the worst of the worst, esp on such a new tv.

I recently got an LG LCD TV, and I've hooked both my TG-16 and Sega Saturn up to it via a couple of RF switches. I've learned that these systems look terrible if the TV is kept in 16:9 ratio, so whenever I've played so far I've changed to 4:3. When I play my Saturn, and turn it off, the TV looks like it's in black and white. Only after I switch channels does the color come back. Could the Saturn or TG-16 have any adverse effect on the TV?

You did the Turbolist groupbuy right? I was the one that replied to you in regards to contacting the "group buyer" since they shipped to the wrong address.

I bought it from someone that participated in the group-buy. Luckily, the replacement was shipped to BT, and, shortly after contacting him, he sent the replacement flash cart to me. By the way, BT rocks.

They don't recommend on their website to use their email address. You actually have to post using their forums. Many times when people say they take forever it is because they waste time sending emails which they don't check.

This is correct, you have to post on their Customer Service forums. I did this from the beginning of discovering the defect, and they were very quick to respond when the process first started. However, after they confirmed reciept of the defective card 2 months after my mailing, it was like pulling teeth getting them to respond. Mind you, I only emailed maybe 5 times after they confirmed reciept, and I had given up on even receiving a functional flash cart. Then, on a lark, I decided to check the forum to see if they had responded, and they wound up shipping my replacement to the person that coordinated the mass purchase. The product works great, but, again, their customer service leaves a lot to be desired.

They're painfully slow at replacing defective products. I now have a fully-functioning cart, but I had to wait nearly 6 months to get the replacement. It works amazingly well so far on my CD-less American TG-16, and I'm glad I invested in this product.

Try the PC Engine Software Bible.  Sunteam Paul's reviews are honest and fair, though not every game has been fully reviewed yet.

drop off is the worst game ever made.

But Double Dungeons, Sonic Spike, and Battle Royal??  Those are all insanely fun multiplayer games!!

people that don't like those games must not have any friends..... or maybe they don't have a multitap and more controllers.

For multiplayer goodness, I indulge in Bomberman '93, Dungeon Explorer, Motoroader, and Aeroblasters. I still think Double Dungeons and Battle Royale stink.

Don't get too comfortable, the dollar has been going up now pretty consistently. Petroleum prices have been dropping as a result of it.

I'm taking a stroll down memory lane and playing Dungeon Explorer.  I still love it!  I love the sequel, but this game will always be one of my favorites.

I don't enjoy Dungeon Explorer as much when I'm playing it solo. DE is infinitely better when you have the multitap going.
