The gameplay videos look awesome and the music sound spectacular. Just ordered it.

I'm with you Sadler, just have been following the progress of the walkthrough. Thank you blueraven!

Very interesting to see how the Turbo was able to handle the parallax scrolling in LoT. Kudos to whoever posted this to YouTube:

After being completely frustrated during my last go around, I'm going to give this another shot. Thanks for all the great work on this, it's definitely helpful!!

Quote from: Bernie on 02/11/2012, 06:22 AMThats for me, lol.  I cant get anywhere....  ugh...  :(  Hate not knowing whats going on....
I'm sort of equally frustrated here. Really wish there was a detailed walkthrough that would at least shed some light on what's going on story-wise.

Quote from: Sadler on 02/07/2012, 10:24 PMI'm ok continuing. I really recommend you heed the save advice though! :D
Save advice heeded - if you have a Tennokoe Bank Card it'll make managing your saves much easier.

Argh, I'm late to the party here. I'm just firing this up now. Is everyone hanging in there alright? Sounds like we've had some issues. Voice up if you think this game isn't going to work well - this is all trial and error, so no use in torturing ourselves. This is supposed to be a fun experience here!

To resolve the memory I'd back up all your saves to a ram card and delete everything off your internal memory. After doing this I'm saving the Xanadu save to it's own slot on the back up ram card. Just an idea.

So, here's the official thread for our first "Plays Well..." Check in here or upload any useful tips, walkthroughs and/or videos here. Good luck!!

Here's a video Sadler posted in the poll thread. Looks like it's a great intro.

Quote from: Sadler on 02/04/2012, 09:11 PMI spent some time searching for a walk through and didn't find anything beyond what I posted above. That said, there are some videos online that I bet would help. Start with this one..
Looks great! And sorry about not noticing your previous post. This week has been nuts and I've been signing on just real quickly to check on the poll. Had I known you wanted to change your vote I would've adjusted it earlier and called the poll finished. All worked out though!

Quote from: Senshi on 02/04/2012, 08:54 PMI think only someone who has completed it would be able to define check points.
That's one reason I was going to look for a walkthrough. Or if someone who has finished it wants to make some suggestions, that'd be great.

Hey all - so it looks like we have a landslide for LoX here! I'm going to start playing tomorrow. Anyone have any ideas of the best way to do this? I'll be looking for a walkthrough tonight (if you know of any, post the links here). Maybe we should set up check-in points throughout the game?

Well, we've got a good three way tie going on here. So I think letting the poll run through Friday would be a good way to see a winner come out of this. I really appreciate the interest and enthusiasm from everyone! Regardless of the game we pick, I think this is going to be a awesome.

Quote from: esteban on 01/28/2012, 08:58 PMNot to be cheesy, but I would encourage everyone to read CrackTiger's post and use it as a guide.

I never finished Neo Metal Fantasy, for example, and it is calling me. However, it might be more fun to tackle it after the group completes a more straightforward game.

:)
I'm all for taking on Anearth Fantasy Stories! It looks absolutely stunning.

Quote from: guest on 01/27/2012, 08:40 PMAnearth Fantasy Stories, although non-linear at the beginning, would be one of the best games to play, as it's high quality and has an amazing walk through.
I second this, plus imho the game looks pretty amazing too.
Just added Anearth to the poll. I agree, this game looks incredible.

For sheer simplicity, I voted Neo Metal Fantasy, as it has an icon based menu that I think will be easier and less intimidating for new folks like me, but I'm game for any game.

So, let's say you're taking on a JRPG with some fellow PCEFX members... Which game would it be? (If I'm missing a critical game suggestion, let me know.)

Quote from: soop on 01/24/2012, 04:27 AMI wouldn't mind Neo Metal Fantasy.  I've barely touched it, but it's reasonably priced, and we do have a walkthrough.
It also has a pretty simple menu system with icons instead of characters.

Kinky? It'd take a lot to make me blush. Bring it on.

Let us know if you get it!

Quote from: guest on 01/23/2012, 09:53 PMI'd be down with Kabuki Den - It's the only JRPG I own.  I downloaded an awesome FAQ from gamefaqs, but haven't had the motivation to work through it.  If there were others playing it, I'd likely give it a go.
I have Kabuki Den - and hear it's pretty awesome. It's a JRPG and it's in Japanese (which is sorta the point of playing together, I'm thinking). Does it make any impact in the overall continuity of the series by starting off with this game?

There seems to be enough interest in playing all sorts of games that it might also make sense to have a sort of "together retro" (name of RacketBoy.com group play forum) for any Turbo or PCE game.

I agree I think a JRPG would be more what I was thinking.

A few days ago, I started Neo Metal Fantasy using the terrific walkthrough on the forums. It's great, but I'm not really sure what's going on as far as who's moving the plot, etc. Would be cool to have a few folks to talk about it with - but I'm open to any JRPG or text heavy game.

Don't get too excited by the subject of this post  - but I noticed over at Racketboy.com they have a sort of book club for games, where a group of folks decide on a game to play together, then share what they thought about the game. What if there was a similar group here, but specifically for Japanese games (especially text intensive RPGs, etc)? We could share about what to do next, working or nonworking strategies, general advice and the like. Maybe some of the Japanese readers could also lend a hand or lead a group through a game.

I know that for me it'd make taking on a Japanese RPG a lot less intimidating if there was a group of us all playing - instead of just working with a walkthrough guide. What do you think?
