@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

Ah the good ol days. Way before the likes of wordpress would do everything for us (well, sort of). Even nowadays one can pull some good stuff with plain old html, a few frames here and there, (now that bandwidth is not a problem) a bunch of gifs, some dropdown menus (so think dthml anyone). If I had the time I'd offer my services. Keep us posted on how that website goes.

Im playing with my wii wii does that count? Seriously, Wii + Component + CRT = great. Not only for Wii games but GC, and the emulators

Quote from: TDIRunner on 11/28/2017, 11:39 AMThe 12 GB flash PS3 still has the space to add an HDD later.  However, it's my understanding that if you format an HDD in that model, you will lose the 12 GB of flash memory.  I remember thinking that the only reason I could come up with for someone buying that unit was they had a non working PS3 with a salvageable HDD that they wanted to transfer over.
Or a HDD from a dead laptop laying around

It's part of the conspiracy to bring the soda industry down, just like with the tobacco industry. While not a smoker myself I miss smoking areas in restaurants.

Quote from: Gypsy on 05/17/2017, 03:16 PMExploring the shovelware is it's own joy entirely too. Lots of sub $3 games that are oddly playable.
Couldn't agree more, such classics as Cooking mama, Hell's Kitchen and the mini games from Super Monkey Ball banana blitz. And how can you forget the Guinness world records game.

Quote from: TheClash603 on 05/18/2017, 08:31 AMI have put over 10 hours into the Puyo Puyo Tetris story mode and have enjoyed the hell outta it.  I know the game is on PS4 and XB1 too, so I suggest anyone that likes puzzle games should pick it up.
But, but you can't take the XB1/PS4 to the throne  :P

Had to use the facilities after watching that PPP of Sonic.

Another one for the brainstorming session "Poorly translated games".

Pretty much what everyone else said, it's better to just keep it. Plenty of awesomeness (plenty of shovelware too).

Quote from: Flare65 on 05/14/2017, 11:05 PMGot a bonus check from work so I went out this weekend to try and find a Switch.  I didn't expect them to be sold out everywhere!  Games Stop, Best Buy, Frys, Target, Wal Mart,Toys R us, nobody has this system in stock.

What I don't understand is all of these places have tons of games and accessories for the system.  Frys in particular has about 20 copies of Mario Kart, 15 copies of Zelda, and at least 10 copies of Puyo Tetris, along with extra controllers, carrying cases, screen protectors....etc.....

Its like they made way more games and accessories than they made systems.  What gives??

You an buy them on craigslist/amazon/ebay all day long for 400 and up.
The second coming of the Wii, except grandmas are not playing this time.

Quote from: johnnykonami on 05/15/2017, 03:47 PMThis is probably the most collectardy thing I've bought in a while:

https://www.shiptoshoremedia.com/store/albums/snatcher

I don't even have a record player and probably won't get one, either.  But, I'm a huge Snatcher fan, have several of the Japanese release CDs for many years now.  This is supposedly the same version as the Sega CD version of the music which I've always liked best and none of those other CD's are based on.  Why they couldn't have just released this as a CD I dunno.  So I went full hipster, good bye $35.  You'll look cool on my shelf unlistened to in your completely obsolete media format.
Get the record player, they aren't that expensive. Records are cool to collect too.

Thanks for the tip. Been a while since I ordered anything from them.

Quote from: Medic_wheatI have put off buying a NES everdrive. Might as well pull the trigger I don't think there can be any more improvements.

As for the SNES everdrive is it finally 100% rom comparable or still room for imrpovmemt?
The SD2SNES is an upgrade from the Super Everdrive and plays just about everything except for some of the special chip games. Megaman x2 and x3 work, but no Starfox or Yoshi's Island.

Lots of fakes on eBay, btw.
Aww man, no PGA Tour 96.

Quote from: cr8zykuban0 on 04/18/2017, 01:30 AMDiscontinuing it means the flippers and scalpers win. Nintendo is losing a lot of potential money and sales , if they would have met demands and produced more of these, they would have sold well.

I guess they dont want to make money lol
They could have sold a 100 million units easily but didn't want to. Baffles me.

Let's see who has the last laugh, when the holiday season comes.

I wish PC games had physical releases but I know it's just a pipe dream. Pop in the disc, install the game then Bob's your uncle.

One has to think in terms of TCO, those mystical machines will just eat you alive.

I just learned there is an FM Downs emulator.

Back in the day, I did my work on an 8088 clone and didn't play much on that amber screen.

Another great review. This immediately reminded me of Klash Ball, specially the dull sad graphics. Klash Ball at least wasn't that messy.

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, can't go wrong for 2 bucks. I haven't read the whole thread, other suggestions Persona 4 arena, PS All Stars Battle royale, Ridge Racer 7.

From the kickstarter stretch goal: "$28,000 -  We will make a 30-minute mini-documentary, "The Making of Henshin Engine" which will be made in cooperation with Rob McCallum of Pyre Productions, The creator of Nintendo Quest, Power of Grayskull, Box Art and more!"
Me not reading the "fine print". Whatever, HE is a total different thing, I'm sure everything will turn out great.

Quote from: glazball on 04/06/2017, 09:45 AMThe director (the big guy who pops in to narrate) is making another movie I believe about retro game box art - which does sound kind of interesting I admit.  If it already has a finalized name, it escapes me.  The movie may even be out already.  He seems like a decent enough guy, so maybe that documentary won't suck as much.
The director is also doing a mini-documentary for the Henshin Engine game
Saru, is that true?
