@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

Dude, I hope you enjoy the hell out of Agedama.  One of my faves on hucard :)

I love run & guns and always thought this game LOOKED cool...but not cool enough to pony up for an official copy & not interesting enough to me to warrant a repro.  I need a flash cart -.-

I don't have any Lynx console anymore, hence why I'm selling the games. :(

I don't have a way to play these games right now, and even with the affordability of region mods, having them seems so superfluous when I've already got an Everdrive & PCE versions are much cheaper.

Here's what I got, all with case, manual, game & sleeve:

Legendary Axe II
Bloody Wolf
Dungeon Explorer
Bonk's Adventure
Neutopia
Neutopia II (case w/ sparky label)

I'd prefer to part with them all at once, but I'll probably end up having to break up the lot.  So anyway...here's what I'd trade for:

AV mod for Famicom

New screen mod for Game Gear

Saturn games (CIB):
Hyper Duel
Night Striker S
Jusatsushi Taromaru
Battle Garegga
Elevator Action Returns
Bulk Slash

PCE games (CIB):
Override
Download
Shubibinman 2
Super Darius
Gradius II
Spriggan Mark 2
Rayxanber 2

Super Famicom games (Cart only):
Kirby 3
Akumajou Dracula
Hagane
Majyuuou
Axelay
R-Type III
Assault Suits Valken
Biometal
Spriggan Powered
Ninja Warriors Again

Mega Drive (CIB):
Yu Yu Hakusho Makyou Toitsusen
Gunstar Heroes
Vampire Killer
Panorama Cotton
Musha Aleste
Dynamite Headdy

PS1 (CIB):
Granstream Saga
Alundra
Strider 2
Vanark
Castlevania Chronicles

PM me if you're interested.

Quote from: esadajr on 06/21/2016, 09:59 AMon Sunday I decided to take on the original Castlevania. Surprisingly I made it past Death (using the cross though). Then I had to take care of other business. Next weekend I'm gonna finish it for old time sake (last time was back in 89).
All of this Castelvania talk.

Now I am wondering what was the more critically acclaimed games in the series for each platform.

CV III for NES ID SAY

followed by Vampire Kiss on the SNES (honestly enjoy it more then IV

PCE only had the one same for Genesis.

GB. Uh. Let's go with Adventure. Why not.

GBA Harmony was good but I tend to remember enjoying Aria more.

DS order of escala was good

N64 I enjoyed the N64 game but hear Legacybis better. Have yet to play.

PS1 most would say Symphany but I liked that arcade port remake of the first game a lot more. Might have more to do with the fact I never actually beat Symphany.

PS2 lament was great. However, I do want to try darkness one day which was also on the xbox

PS3. I liked lords a lot have yet to play part two or that HD port of the two portalble games in that series.

Wii. I hear there is a great eshop game I never played and the only physical game is that fighting game that didn't do all that great.  Never play any game on the Wii though.
How odd, I've also been jumping on the Castlevania train lately.  I've mostly been playing Drac X on the PCE, but I also just got the N64 game (the first one) and I've yet to try it out.  Lots of people trash it, but I don't think it looks too awful even with the wonky camera.  This is also coming from a guy who's "first golden age of gaming" was playing Shadows of the Empire, Rogue Squadron & Beetle Adventure Racing on the N64 -.-'

Anyway, Drac X continues to grow on me more & more, but it still seems so difficult like most of the pre-metroidvania games.  I've unlocked Maria & she seems to make the game a little easier.  Anyone else notice using her makes the game almost feel like El Viento?

They're all STG.

No, not Strike Gunner.

General Gaming / Re: Star Cruiser?

Quote from: guest on 06/19/2016, 05:32 AMIt's playable, but it sucks.

and no, it's not that great to play without knowing wtf it says.

Just find the soundtrack.   I just sold my copy of the game like 2 weeks ago.
Sadface...I guess I could load it onto my everdrive & give it a whirl before I spend the money.  But I've been listening to the music on repeat for a few days now...sooo good. <3 and I'm a graphics whore, so just watching the game intro gets my adrenaline going.  Maybe I'll watch it before playing Star Fox or X or something lol.

General Gaming / Star Cruiser?
06/17/2016, 10:18 PM
Anyone here play this at all?  It's not been translated, but it looks like at least part of the game is action-oriented.  Really interesting that they even attempted pushing a polygon-heavy game of that magnitude on the Genesis, and the music is phenomenal.  Like, I might end up buying the game for the music alone.

But...is it playable at all to us round eye?

Quote from: VenomMacbeth on 06/15/2016, 12:10 AMI'd almost like to do a lesser version of this...with only the "16" illuminated, maybe?  Hmm...
I discovered the Turbografx logo ink floresces in blue/UV light, so the the high blue spectral content of the cool white high intensity LEDs is not wasted. The yellow dye is almost greenish. But why go through the trouble and not do the entire logo?
It's just a nitpick on my part.  I've never seen a console with the entire logo illuminated.  It's not that it doesn't look super awesome or anything...It would just make more sense to me for such a light to be more of an accent.  Plus, if NEC was going to do something like this officially, I could see them lighting the "16" as an intended distraction from the fact that the system runs on an 8-bit processor, something that people were skeptical about when the console was new...idk, I'm overthinking it I guess.  Seriously awesome work though :)

Double-posting to let peeps know that James lives up to his screen name.  Dracula X and Leynos 2 arrived in tip top shape. ^-^

Nulltard, I knew it was meant to be the day you posted the Ron Jeremy video.

However, my JO Crystal has gone missing & I have reason to believe you broke into my house & stole it.  I'll be needing that back, you sneaky fucker.

Also, I'm taking the kids.

Esteban...

I've only seen you fail to be positive/optimistic in your posts a couple times ever.  It's always refreshing & well-appreciated, given how much angst has been being thrown around of late.

Title says it all...what would be cheapest?  Region-modded white PCE w/ AV booster?  Or composite mod?  Core Grafx?  I'm looking to get a cheap setup for m'lady so that she can play Bonk and Granola Snake.
#25
Any word yet on whether translations will be available?  Valkyrie no Densetsu would be first on my list, but Gekisha Boy & SonSon II would also be awesome!
#26
I'm sure some of this has been mentioned, but here's my list of games you should definitely pleh:

Alien Soldier
Gunstar Heroes
Lightening Force (instead of Thunder Force IV, so you can do the 99 lives trick)
Streets of Rage 2
Second Samurai
Panorama Cotton
Yu Yu Hakusho Makyou Toitsusen
Shinobi III
Ranger X

I'd like to jump on the YouTube video review bandwagon.  I'm sure you're all tremendously excited about that. -_-

Anyway, most of my consoles output AV (although I do have component cables for my Wii and PS2, as well as SVID for the SNES through Gamecube) sooo...what's a good capture card to get?  I'm pretty new to this sort of thing...

Finally got Leynos 2 for the Saturn and PCE Dracula X in a trade.  Been putting some time into the latter.  I love the choir chicks on the menu screen professing their love of Mexican cheese dip.

Ditto!  Especially for translations.  Valkyrie no Densetsu, Gekisha Boy, and Son Son II would be definite buys...and Eternal City, if that ever gets finished!
#35
YES!  I love this game!  Haven't beaten it yet but it's so fun, I'll probably actually get in on this high-score even though I know I won't come out anywhere near on top.

Quote from: fsa on 04/14/2016, 10:43 AMI picked up a copy of "Project Sylpheed" for the 360. I am hoping its good as I haven't played any SHMUP on a new generation system as they are far and few in between (PS2 and older).
It's not particularly exciting.  You would have been better off with Raiden IV I think.

Quote from: VenomMacbeth on 04/08/2016, 11:18 AMI've all but given up on getting all the Saturn games I want at this point.  I've narrowed the list down to Hyper Duel, and maybe Leynos 2 & Night Striker S, then I'll have to call it quits for awhile with the collecting.  Sad, because the Saturn is my favorite console for arcade ports...it's just becoming too prohibitively expensive.
There is always Rhea or Phoebe (depending on which model you have).
"Always"?  Aren't they out-of-stock currently?

I'll have to invest in something like that sometime soon.  There are many titles other than the ones I listed that I'd love to play, but it's just getting too damn expensive for me to own them.  Shame, too...I would have liked to own more stuff like PuLiRuLa, Elevator Action Returns, Battle Garegga, etc., but I'll have to limit myself to the three games I mentioned before, for my wallet's sake.

...actually...I may have to make an exception for Battle Garegga, too.  Dat VGM though...

The juiciest thing to me is the apparent fact that this Sean "Lee" scam artist was involved far earlier in the debacle than was admitted by Kennedy.  Really leads me to believe that the whole thing really was a big con all along.

I can't believe I just read all of that...Jesus...

Interesting, though.  A couple people he name dropped weighed in.  Normally I hate drama, but this is like a soap opera.

Yeah, I know everyone already knows this, but I want this game.  I'd be willing to trade my Gyruss cab for it.  I might have some other stuff I could trade for it as well.  Let me know if you have, or know of anyone who has a copy for sale!

All CIC.  Pictures and whatnot to follow.

Jinmu Denshou - $10
New Zealand Story - $15
Veigues Tactical Gladiator - $10
Fantasy Zone - $10

PM me if you're interested.

Yup.  The "quantity" of my collection is starting to keep me from having the "quality" of things I want in my collection...aka Hyper Duel...so I'm getting rid of stuff.  There will be pics, conditions, and prices for all items to follow soon, but each of these games comes at least cartridge+case.  I'd prefer to sell as many as possible at time, so I'll probably cut you more of a deal the more games you buy.  Here's the list:

Master System:
Thunder Blade - $7
The Ninja - $5
Out Run - (torn plastic in case) $5
Galaxy Force - $15

Genesis:
G-Loc - $5
Soldiers of Fortune - $10
Flashback - $10
Stargate - $5
Skitchin' - $7
Terminator 2 - $5
True Lies - $7
Red Zone - $10
Galaxy Force II - $5
Desert Strike - $5
Alien 3 - $7
Rocket Knight Adventures - CIC $40
Earthworm Jim (cardboard box) - $25
Gunstar Heroes - CIC (address written on manual with marker...can probably be removed, but I haven't tried) OFFER

Quote from: Groover on 04/03/2016, 03:30 PMI'm not a fan of people using real carts on android emulators. It is just helping drive up the price on carts.
Especially when you have shoddy crap like the Retron 5 with pin connectors so tight they ruin said carts.
