@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

QuoteYou're only buying stuff on Tradera*?

*For you non-swedes: Swedish Ebay-equivalent.
Im not "only" buying my games in Sweden or from tradera, but I cant deny most of my games have been imported by someone else

Seldane, you are incredible. Those games for only $50

My next games: Cyber Core, Paranoia, Panic Bomber.. and Doraemon, that puzzlegame I have missed for very long. All games for about 3-4$ each, complete ones in good shape.

Thanks Seldane! Just read the PCE-bible review, I dont think I want this game

QuoteHey mamo, where you been hiding at?
Hi there Ninja, I havent post so much lately unfortunately and I miss it, this is one of my VERY few (2) fav-forums after all :) It just came to my mind about some other games I maybe will buy next month, can someone identify them for me:
/59ii.jpg
That konami game is Tokimeki Memorial, which looks like either a dating game or school sim for girls.
The Bikkuriman World game you've pictured is a board game or something(I don't like it). The Wonderboy II/MW Bikkuriman World game is the HuCard.
And yes, that last game is the original Cosmic Fantasy.
As far as I remember, pretty much all of those games should run you around $5 or less each individually and up to $10 for Langrisser or Cosmic Fantasy. So I wouldn't pay much more than $25 for the lot.
Thanks for your help, and I think I buy them all. Could be worth owning if Im learning japanese one day. That Bikkuri Man Daijikai game seems very weird though :?,

I also can trade my game against a 6 button pad, I dont know how much those pads costs nowadays though? If someone knows a place where I can shop them online please tell me :)

This sound-problem, is it especially usual on the Pc Engine and TG-16 Duo? I never had any problems with duo-r but had a duo back in the days that the CD-sound just disappeared on.

I need Star Parodia JP/SCD right now, question is how much I must be willing to pay for it when it´s quite rare. Any ideas what it usually go for nowadays?, seems to be around 35-60 $. Supercool game I wanted for a year, I never played it but I know I wont get disapointed  :)

Of the games you mentioned I might be interested in Wonderboy III but do you have any other shooters or platform action-games that you are willing to trade? It doesnt matter if it is CD or Hucard games :) (gotta be japanese games though).

The christian religion have been around me all my life but I am a atheist. I love christmas for example but I never think about what it was supposed to be about, Im only in it for Santa, christmasgifts and the other traditional things. Just like I think that buddhism is cool because of the shaolinmonks. I dont know if I ever can be taking a religion serious and thats a pity.

QuoteSee, I would have never guessed this. That's awesome  . How is Halloween understood? As a novelty that is largely foreign, or as something that has become interwoven with Swedish culture? Is there a "Swedish twist" on Halloween... you know, by tapping into the history and culture of Sweden?

It was a novelty and still are in different respects. It´s young people that have been taking Halloween very positive while the older people seems to not take it to seriously. The reason why Halloween was imported was that we wanted something new for a try but also the fascination for american culture as most of the inspiration how to celebrate it comes from american movies and such. I guess that its also because many parents like the whole idea when the kids can go out having a good time begging candy in "scary" costumes. But they dont like their kids doing mischief with eggthrowing and firecrackers etc  , it´s the same thing with Easter Saturday.

In Sweden we imported Halloween some years ago. We celebrate it with decorations, candy begging, mischief, horrormovies and parties! Its very fun ^^

QuoteOK, looks like I'll be getting some of these comics  Do you recall the specific issues you found these in? That would be super helpful

I found the Bonk ads in :

Daredevil Vol.1 No 284, September, 1990

Also Included these "non turbografx" ads : Code Name : Viper (Nes), Wrath Of The Black Manta (Nes), Marc (Nes), Snakes Revenge (Nes)

Daredevil Vol.1 No 285, October, 1990

Also Included : Mission Impossible (Nes), Wrath Of The Black Manta (Nes), Total Recall (Nes), Fortress Of Fear & Amazing Spiderman (Gameboy)

I found the Splatterhouse ad in this issue :

Daredevil Vol.1 No 286, November 1990

Also included : Wrath Of The Black Manta (Nes), Gargoyes Quest (Gameboy), Video Game Master Books, Back To The Future part 1 & 2 (Nes)

They seem to be up all time on ebay for nice prices so no problems finding them :)
#21
I dont like Bubble Bobble to much so if thats the case my own reaction would probably be the same. Better give this game a try for free.
#22
Nice! Now my scanner can be left alone ;). To get these ads of Splatter House and Bonk is very easy by the way, they are in lots of Daredevil comics and other marvel comics from early 90s. I think I will sacrifice my comics and frame the ads ^^.
#23
Ive heard about that extra stock that was found but never knew it was so many of them. I can get it for about 30-40 dollars this week if I want but Im not to sure that I want it.
#24
These are two american comic ads, I should have been scanned them but my scanner isnt working for some reasons.

Talking of rare games : how about Circus Lido, whats the usual price for it nowadays?
#27
Im gonna buy Zero4champ II for about 4 $ so it´s quite cheap I think.
#28
I havent seen the game in action until most recently when I whatched the PcenginefxTV-episodes. I praise and bow to this show!
#29
Cool, thanks for the information and help guys. I think I will not take the CD that seriously, but if I happen to have the chance to get it cheap again I might be interested. But as always it´s great to get some more knowledge in the history of Pc Engine stuff.
#30
The more Nec-xplotation more joy! Im having some small memories that a black PC engine Duo-r is being played on in Jet Li movie Black Mask so I will give the film a re-whatch soon and see if it really is the case. BTW, on the first Yohko-screenshot the pic leave out much space for a Atari Lynx spooted in the left corner ^^

General Gaming / Sega Saturn
10/14/2005, 04:03 PM
I thought the price was going around 50 $ nowadays, but maeby the price is raising. To bad you lost the DC-version Ninja Spirit, it must be very cool to play it online and I dont think the Saturn version is sooo much better (just a little bit) even though I heard people saying it.
#32
For some time ago I missed a deal, a CD wich according to the seller contains various soundtracks. Im a bit sad that I missed the deal if it´s rare or something because it wasent really that expencive. So does someone know anything about this game or soundtrackCD and could give a little comment?

Edit : Hmm, to say that this CD is odd in the subjectline might have been a bit wrong, I dunno about that but I havent seen this CD ever before on pictures. I can not read japanese either so I dont know the title for it.

General Gaming / Sega Saturn

Saturn is very good, lots of cool games! It´s the arcade-ports I like the most and some versions seems to be the best on Saturn. Like Street fighter Zero 3 for example, that game is one of my fav-fighters ever! I would not mind getting more shooters like Battle Garegga that Ive heard is one hell of a shooter but also very difficult. Nights Into Dreams is one of my favorite- 3D games ever to also on Saturn.

General Gaming / Favorite non-Nec system
10/14/2005, 11:18 AM
I choose snes as my favorite non-pc engine console. One of my alltime favorite games Super Metroid is featured and lots of other classics I like such as Super Turrican, Contra III, Street Fighter 2, Ganbare Goemon, Ultimate Parodious, Axelay etc. Im also very impressed by the powerful quality on Hardware and Software, I was very violent on my SNES stuff when I was a kid but still it never failed working no matter how much violence I gave it.

After that I add Sega Genesis, Saturn and Neo Geo as my other favorite non-NEC consoles.
#35
Yep that should be it, thanx! It´s more like a low disturbance than a  beeping sound come to think of it and its only notable in the Level presentation theme thankfully.
#36
This is just a funny fact that the Mamono Hunter Yohko play Pc Engine and Pc Engine Duo-r! In other words insidious advertising to us who love Nec Consoles!

Do someone know if it´s meant to be a sort of "beeping" sound after some of the soundsamples in Bomberman 93? It´s the only game I´ve got that reacts in that kind of way. Not that I find it disturbing but I want to know the reason behind all this.

Hi evrybody! I am a Pc Engine Duo-R player from Sweden. This place is great thank godness to this forum to!
